Did you know that the National Hand Bell Ringers' convention was in Atlanta at the same time as the PTG. Their convention was right down the street from us at the Sheraton. And did you know that there are a couple of other tuners besides Jan and I who are also avid hand bell ringers, who also went over there for a concert or 2 during that week.
The scuttlebutt I heard, back here on Oahu, from another hand bell ringer, was that there was a joke going around the Bell Ringers' Convention that week that they were so happy to discover that because the Piano Technicians Guild was there, too, they were NOT the "nerdiest" group in town that week! My reply was, "Well, the joke is on THEM, because the PTG said the same thing about the Hand Bell Ringers!
The worst part was, that Jan and I, along with at least one other handbell ringer/tuner, (who shall remain nameless). were nerdiest of nerds.
