Well gosh Scott, you' getting all warrior with me.LOL
Of course, your interpretation hangs on whether they could make glass, or an hourglass a million years ago! Also the maze idea is a valid one, unfortunately, not as a circle as all paths lead back to the entrance. No getting lost there.
My interpretation, is it's a sound wave at 5cps created with the trumpet he is holding, that splits and levitates rocks.

Subject: Ancient Sound Waves?
My second doctorate was in petroglyphs. The spiral in this case is not a sound wave, but rather a corn maze, something that lives on today as a fiendish form of "entertainment" in pumpkin patches. The origin of the corn maze was as a last-resort way to confuse an enemy invader and provide a hiding place. In the petroglyph pictured, we see a warrior whose shield has already been shot with several arrows by an advancing enemy. The hourglass at the upper right is a symbol that this warrior's time is almost up unless he can buy the 3 required tickets (cash only, no debit/credit cards), politely jump the line in front of the family in matching Moana costumes, and make it into the maze. Once inside, the enemy in hot pursuit will become lost, and likely starve to death as they wander in the corn. The enemy can even be dispatched in a cruel manner by catapulting paper cups of over-priced lukewarm sugar-free cocoa from a mix into the maze.
It is a tedious and terrible way to go. Ask me how I know this...

The spiral is quite common in petroglyphs from all over the world. Could that be a depiction of a sound wave? When you see the figure, usually what you see with it, often looks like dancing and/or ceremonial dress.
Just a thought.
