Subject is a Millennium upright with a center muffler pedal which is not working.  In addition to the center pressure (wooden) release, there are two blocks which rotate somewhat but not enough to remove the kickboard.  Anyone know how to get the kickboard out so I can fix the pedal?  Thanks for any help!

Were these shipping blocks which need to be removed?

    Ed,

I'm not sure but I don't think so.  They are felt lined and fit nicely to the kick board.  I've asked a local Bechstein dealer but may have to contact the factory as well.  Thanks for your reply.

    Best,

Sounds like shipping blocks. Unscrew and discard them. If they look too permanent, I know, they make even shipping blocks too nicely.
