I paid a visit to Larry B Crabb , Ruth, and Greg, Sunday afternoon. It had been awhile (my bad) and I was really overdo for a visit. It's been rough for Larry lately. The chemo this last time around was - to be blunt- awful. Had to stop taking the pills. He gets chemo via pills or intravenous depending on.... Anyway, this last round really was bad- couldn't think clearly, couldn't talk, very weak...yuck is too generous a term. We had a really good visit on Sunday. He misses talking to folks; seeing folks and getting cards. Greg is keeping the shop and school running. Ruth is managing at home but Larry isn't getting out much- too much effort. Hard to get to the Doc. He HAS done better since they began taking him in to get IV fluids 2x week. Chemo makes it hard to stay hydrated which makes him susceptible to a myriad of bad stuff. He is not likely to make St Louis which really bothers him. You know he's a charter member and former Secretary of IAPBT, right? He also is REALLY concerned about keeping the Barbershop Chorus going.
