    Hi folks,

I'm wondering if anyone has first hand experience with a back pack that is convenient for us piano technicians? I use an SAT III, so it would need to be able to store that along with most-used tools.

    Thanks,
    Jeff Farris

    Hi Jeff,
I just started using a Veto Pro Pac backpack earlier this year. It's a bit bigger than I would like, but it carries everything including the SAT III. It's also very comfortable to carry. Let me know if you need any other information.

    All the best,

I've been using LowePro camera bags for the last few years.  Lots of useful space, pockets, compartments. There are many different designs, but most have a place for extra lenses that can be used for glues, lubricants, etc.  I also have a couple tool rolls to organize tools in the main compartment.  It always takes a little head scratching to figure out what goes where, but I've managed to figure it out to work for me.

    The latest iteration is the

I use the ToolPak 4-panel backpack and have found it very solid and reasonably priced, with lots of tool placement options. Don't know the dimensions of your SAT, but they make a larger pack as well. The website is www.toolpak .com and they're good at responding to questions.

    Good luck!

    Hi Jeff,

I have been using a different kind of back pac. I was looking for something that would distribute the weight evenly on both sides and found this item called the BackTpack. It is a bit awkward to use at first but it have saved me back from discomfort. Especially when I wear it for a long time. Like using the subway instead of driving.

I use the Toolpak backpack; check on Amazon. There are two and three compartment versions. I suggest the smaller one; it gets heavy when fully loaded. Stitching between Individual tool slots can be removed to configure for larger tools. Stitching is harder to remove than their information would indicate, but can be done.

I got a Custom Leathercraft tool backpack about a year ago. It holds a lot, but I don't use an SAT (cybertuner on an iPad mini) so I can't speak to that. The front pouch, which they show with a drill in it, might be able to hold it. The only complaint I have about the design is that it doesn't stand up vertically very well. It has a tendency to tip forward. Otherwise, very well made.

I have used a ToolPak Backpack for the past several years. I will look into the others mentioned....always looking for something better. However, the ToolPak has been quite good. toolpak.com is the website.
