I hope this image comes through on my post intact, or as a attachment. From an email blast from “Modern Piano Moving,” suggesting that “you will protect the instrument and have better results with appropriate, quality tools. A set of good piano tuning tools will cost less than a single professional tuning.” Has anyone else seen this? Who are these people?

My tuning hammer alone cost more than I charge for a professional tuning. On the other hand, I haven't had to pay to have my piano tuned since I got my first hammer, which cost only about $80, (35 years ago). So, in that sense, they are borderline correct.

Modern Piano Moving is a very old long distance piano moving company. They advertise in the Journal every month. Can't say they are earning any professional tech friends with this promo. Unless they refer their customers who actually try this and subsequently break a string to a professional who knows how to fix it. Then we look amazingly good.
