Just watched a story on 60 Minutes about Harvey and the flooding of Houston. The tag picture at the end of the story was a Story & Clark console in pieces, on top was the big decal with the Lifetime warranty on the Story tone "genuine mahogany" soundboard. All I could think of was good riddance to a genuine POS! I know it was probably loved and treasured by the owners. Since they are no longer being inflicted on, I mean being made, if they get any insurance settlement for it they can now get a piano that has real tone! IMHO

I saw it too ... desperately reaching for my phone to take a picture.  Pretty neat we were just discussing them.

Another thought: That genuine POS has been replaced in today's marketplace by an electronic keyboard. Not only are those even less fun to play than any well-tuned S&C vertical piano, they don't require our services. Some of us may be lucky enough to work on only fine pianos. I still service a lot of these old POS's for customers who continue to enjoy them, and maybe offer me carrot cake in the bargain.

I never use write the abbreviations,  P... and P... in any piano forum.  I believe that it is degrading to the profession, demoralizes technicians who earn their living working on ordinary pianos and give the general public who may read such posts a negative opinion of piano technicians.  It does not elevate the person who uses such insulting terminology in the minds of anyone who sees those words.  It does quite the opposite, in fact.
