Does anyone know what the serial number range or years the expanding action brackets on Young Changs appeared as well as the years of center pinning problems ?

I looked at a GP158 Young Chang today that had many unplayable notes in the high treble. I took off the fallboard and low and behold the jack toes where so far back they did not even touch the letoff buttons. You could see visible cracks in the brackets as well so I have to contact YC with the serial number to get new brackets. Not sure what they have in stock but it took months last time..

Also I have no idea if there are pinning problems because I was not able to play the piano or try any form of swing and gram gauge tests.
On top of all of this the owner is moving and the buyers do not want the piano- of course she has two weeks to go . I am trying to have her see if the new house owners will let her  leave the piano until it is fixed to avoid storing it. At the very least she will have to factor the cost of repairs and some regulation into the selling price. The piano as of now is unplayable

I don't know the exact years, but the tell tale sign of expanding brackets is that they are silver colored, instead of gold.

I've not run across pinning problems with YC's. That's a Samick product problem.

Per Sam Son, the affected pianos--Young Chang, Wurlitzer, Weber, Knabe, Cline, and PianoDisc PD series--were made by Young Chang from 1990 to 1998, with serial numbers between 050000 and 118750. I assume those are approximate.
