Several dampers on this Steinway B make this peculiar noise. I can't identify the cause.

Sounds like loose damper flange screws. Either that, or the head is loose in the wire.

Could it be a loose lead weight?

Check for loose leads in the underlever

It seems as though the lead insert is loose and needs to be swedged.  These can often make that noise.

    Giovanni,

Does it make the noise without the damper installed? Assuming you've checked for a loose flange screw. And pinning problems.

Loose leads? If this piano has springs up that high, could one of them be contacting something it shouldn't?
