20+ y/o 6'1" Wurly grand, made by YC.

Sounds of breaking, shattering glass. Perfect for Salsa Music.

After the compass needle and hammer technique which toned it down to excessively bright,
I applied compression to the sides of the crowns with a set of parallel pliers (saw-off to .5" length)
and followed that with the same pliers at the shoulders. That took it way down and playable. A followup experiment of the ball peen hammer technique brought the brightness back up as expected. But now it's 'played-in'.

Steam was the next endeavor which brought the piano to a listenable level and sweeter tone. Ready to go out the door. Good thing, it's going to a 2 month rental tomorrow.

I have to make some of Fred's micro needle tools. I have the needles (quilting needles)
but have been wondering just what to do with them; they looked so promising at the fabric store.
I know you've been there, at a store, holding something in your hand, don't know quite what to do with it
but you know it'll come in handy just when you need it. So you buy it and stash it away.

To quote John McDonald, RPT (RIP), "You don't always need it, but when you need it; you need it".
I attribute this to his Iowa upbringing and unshakable logic.
