    Hi all,

I really don't know much about Falcone's, but went to inspect one on Tuesday.  It is all original concert grand from 1988. Has full length ivory keys from Kluge.  It's in very nice shape. Board and bridges are excellent. Action needs rebuilding.

Does anyone have a ball park range of what one is worth?

    Thanks

    Paul

    Paul,

We have three Falcone's here at CalArts, two 7' 4"s and one 9'. All three are top tier instruments.

Their quality is more easily assessed than their current market value. Only a very limited number of pianos were made by the Falcone factory when it was in Haverhill, MA. That doesn't go far in terms of building name recognition. At the same time, the name has since been sold to an outfit making entry-level pianos, which doesn't help, either.

Good luck! (And please, let me know what you find!),

    Alan

Contact Rebecca Apodaca, (949) 768-7110. She seems to me to be the most qualified appraiser I've spoken with or met. Tell her I referred you to her.

If the case still looks nice, the retail of one in wonderful condition would be from $25K to $45K. Slow to sell off-brand 9' pianos though.
