I don't know for sure, but looking at this photo it looks like if you removed that nut(s) the leg would come off. I have seen similar arrangements for attaching legs to a console where the leg is one piece all the way to the top of the arm. Why not just loosen the nut and see what happens?

I ran into a Yamaha "M" vertical 1980 today - silk loop job. One of the front legs is delaminating and the owner wants to take it on. Would be nice if he could get it off the piano. It didn't seem to want to unscrew, I removed the end-block and found this bold assembly in a cutaway, I'm wondering if, and how, this might be a locking mechanism for the leg. I don't see what else it might be doing there.
Anyone familiar with this?
cove behind end-block with nut and bolt assembly
Front corner w/leg, cove is in the red circle.
