Here's a method i came up with for cleaning sanded hammers that works surprisingly well. Based on a little camouflage.
The proof is in the photos,
    1. The sanded Hammer

    2. Blown off with air

    3. Rubbing in chalk

    4. Blown off again. Done,

But alas, the caveman tickles the ivories.

Thanks Chris! That's just what I was looking for! You rally should submit this to the Journal in the TT&T section.

Does any of the chalk remain, or does the chaulk pull off all the sanding residue as it flies off?

    Jim,
Not sure, perhaps a little of both. The chalk I'm using is not for chalkboards. But for line stripers marking asphalt. I think it's softer?? So it penetrates well, im wondering also if it has titanium dioxide in it?? There is no dust flying either when playing the piano that I can tell.
A nice little accidental discovery, if I do say so myself.
