Does Steinway drill pinblocks by hand? I tuned a 1978 D today and thought at first I was seeing crooked. But no, there they were, crooked tuning pins. How on earth can one drill tuning pin holes at differing angles with a drill press? They weren't way far off, but off enough to notice if one were looking. Does anyone know - do they drill by hand or with a drill press?
