    Greetings,

Steinway used to use a piece of hardware that screwed into the rim to stop their music desks from going too far back. About ten years ago, they changed to a different design. They no longer carry what I am calling music desk stop screws. (They resemble the keyframe end-pins that mount in the front rail and are held down by the key blocks, except that those are square while the music desk stops are round, and have a piece of tuning that the music desk would contact, when pushed back far enough to meet this part.)

If anyone has two or more of these that hey would be willing to part with, I am eager to acquire them!

    Best,

    Alan

Nothing more than a #10 or 12 wood screw, cut head off with hack saw & cut a slot into the top.

Yes, and one could just get a bit of vacuum hose tubing from any auto parts store to use for the rubber bumper. (Just take your screw or balance rail pin into a store & have them pick out the correct size. I believe washer fluid size is about perfect for this.) This stuff is like 3 to 4 bucks a foot at the most.
