    Hello-

Does anyone know where, or if it's possible to find new front key pins that are 3.5mm or .137"?  WNG has balance rail pins that size, but apparently not front pins.  I need the longer length for Steinway, from the mid-50's.  Pianotek only carries .147" and .129", and factory sells .128".

    thanks,
    Dennis Johnson

Yeah, that's was my first thought.  I've never seen front pins that size on a Steinway, but there is no evidence of them being replaced, or of any prior re-bushing either.  Meantime, I think the best solution will be to use the Pianotek .129 pins. Those actually mic out closer to .131 anyway and it won't be a problem to use slightly thicker felt.

    thanks,
    Dennis.

Was that around 2001? I think I have one aberrant D from then with pins that are probably that size (I'd have to go measure to be sure). I had guessed it was some quirk of changing suppliers. Definitely original.
