I have started using pipettes since we last discussed them a few months ago, instead of hypodermic needles. Thanks for that Tim.  Still use the hypos sometimes, but the pipettes have been taking the front seat lately. Cheap, and I actually reuse them, in a shear tour de force of cheapness.

I also re-use them till they are no longer operational. Especially for the thin CA I buy it in 8 oz bottle and simply use the pipette.

In apply thin CA to bridge pins, can we better control a drop at a time with pipettes rather than applying with the squeeze bottle?

Thanks Allen, final question. Do I load the pipettes with CA or just 1 drop at a time on the pipette?

    Thomas,

I recently bought a device called the Glue Looper. It is intended for single drop applications of CA. I have not tried it yet, but it looks very much like ink pen idea that Jon Page wrote about in another thread about CA application. Not expensive, and re-usable.

    The Glue Looper
Neatly delivers a drop of glue, finish, or lubricant What a great idea! Put the Glue Looper™ in a razor knife handle and you have a dedicated drop-fill tool. Glue Loopers are great for lubricating open-gear tuners, too. And they're reusable: just burn off any leftover oil or finish and it's ready to go again.

    Peter,

    "Not expensive, and F-Ausable."

A little help with this one? (I'm guessing CA-usable, but not sure…)

    Re-usable. I corrected it on edit .

Stupid auto-correct is more like forced auto-mistske!  Drives me nuts ad it never seems to learn the correct vocabulary but reverts to I don't know what. It is absolutely STUPID!

Thanks Peter. Where do I get this Glue Looper.
I asked Alan that stupid question about loading up the pipette because in my feeble mind I was thinking, of all things, pipe cleaners instead of pipette.

StewMac has them. I got mine from Hobbylinq (just Google them).  Just have not tried it yet. (Maybe with the power out this afternoon would be a good time to mess around with it).

Personally I find that fine control (consistently) with a pipette is challenging. Maybe it's due to deteriorating muscular control (I don't know). I use them all the time when I need a steady, but fine, stream of liquid.

I'll be interested in your take on it if you get it.

    Thanks Peter,
I’ve been using Loctite Thin CA in the Control applicator. I may not gain any more control with other methods. But I continue to search.

I thought I would let the discussion play out before I said anything.

I think the video's purpose is to show multiple uses of pipettes, not applying CA one drop at a time.  If one hasn't figured out how to control the .5ml pipette to dispense one drop at a time, I think a glue looper is a good choice.  I personally don't have any  trouble dispensing one drop at a time.  The beauty of the tool is one can see the liquid coming down the tube and use pressure on the bulb to control it.

Using the bulb of a 3.5ml pipette as a handle for a saw blade is interesting.  And attaching the tube of a pipette to a glue bottle is interesting also.  I often have very thin openings I need to saturate (not one drop at a time) with CA and using the techniques presented in the front of the video helps with that situation.
