Thanks, Charles.
I just got a message from another tech that did warranty work for Geneva
and said that there were a number of these that came in for loose tuning
pin warranty work and if the wrest planks were replaced, may have been
glued in, which may explain why I see glue in this one. Maybe that's
where the plate elevation problem came in too.
I'm thinking I can probably get the joint to break loose and lift the strung
back out with the pinblock intact.
Thanks for everyone's feedback.

I was a Petrof dealer during that era. In the grands you are exactly correct, the plate can be pulled with the pinblock and strings attached. There is no glue involved. The most time-consuming part of the whole process is loosening the pins and getting the string out from between the bridge pins.

Subject: Petrof modl IV pinblock installation
Anyone rebuild a Petrof model IV? I have a new customer with one from 1998 on which the back side strings are in contact with the edge of the plate in front of the hitch pins. I have seen this on another Petrof a little bit older. There are no duplex alloquots. I can't lower the plate without removing it.
It doesn't have enough angle at the back to add a bearing or alloquots. The pinblock appears to be screwed into the rim on the outside of the plate struts, so it should come out with the plate and strings attached. But it also looks like there is some glue squeeze out where it sits on the rim, so I dunno. Anybody know if the pinblocks are glued in, or will come out with the plate and strings attached?
