Opening Session

7 p.m.

We’ll announce PTG award recipients for 2021 and start the convention with a preview of the outstanding lineup of classes and special activities scheduled for this year. You’ll have an opportunity to win some nice prizes and join in the fun as we launch our 2021 convention.

President’s Welcome Reception

8:30 p.m.

PTG President Paul Adams invites you to join him in a fun-filled evening of food, entertainment and socializing. Everyone is welcome! Enjoy the music of a 5-piece Dixieland/Swing band featuring John DePaola from the Grand Floridian Hotel at Disneyworld. 5x7digital-6422.jpegJohn DePaola has been a full time freelance trumpeter for over 30 years. He lives in Orlando, FL where he has been a member of the Rosie O’Grady’s Good Time Jazz Band. He has also been on staff at Walt Disney World since 1987. John has performed with entertainers such as Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis, Kenny Rogers, Frank Sinatra Jr., The Moody Blues, and many others. He has also played for national touring Broadway Shows like West Side Story, Hello Dolly, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, The Producers, and Chicago. John has performed at numerous jazz festivals in the US and Europe and leads his own group at jazz venues in Florida. He received a Masters degree in jazz studies from The University of South Florida and is also a member of the newly formed Jazz Orchestra at The Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. Great Day in the Park - Day Trip to Winter Park

JOURNEY THROUGH JAZZ

Saxophonist/flutist Daniel Jordan, has been an educator and musician since 1976. He has a flexible and common senseDaniel Jordan approach to teaching and playing. He was titled as Florida All State Jazz Band Tenor one for 1976-1977. He has taught at numerous schools including Rollins College and has performed with a multitude of renowned artists such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Barry Manilow, The Four Tops, The Temptations and many more. He has performed on New York City Broadway, “Late Night with David Letterman,” and in countless other shows and productions. Daniel and his band will perform selections demonstrating the evolution of jazz over the decades including brief explanations about each piece. Larry Crabb Barbershop Chorus

Get set for some splendid harmony featuring barbershop standards and some surprises with a PTG-twist. Led by Bill Davis, RPT, this volunteer group has filled the room and charmed PTG convention audiences for over 35 years. Like to sing? You can be a part of this co-ed group. Chapel Service

PTG volunteers will be leading a 60-minute non-denominational service of music and inspiration.
