I recently used the Angel Shot voicing technique on some very hard hammers in a sanctuary piano.  I told the worshipp leader that since everyone hears tone a little differently, that I would proceed carefully and slowly to change the tone.  I used angel shot voicing in just 1 of the string grooves.  It was fast, but effective.  The tone became slightly warmer when playing soft but kept the brillance when playing loudly to lead a congregation.  All 3 ladies on the music staff were delighted! I  am a believer!  THANK YOU FOR PRINTING THAT ARTICLE IN THE JOURNAL.

I was wondering, is this some kind of religious voicing, or is the word supposed to be angle?
At first, I was trying to figure out what kind of voicing it was. Then I realised that the word was supposed to be angle, meaning to come in at an angle.
Or is this another sample of spelling being different in the US and Canada/England.

John, the meaning of the name "Angel Shot" was explained by Zhiwei Huang in a class that I took a couple of weeks ago at West Pac II. He explained, as I recall, that "Angel Shot" is a translation of a Chinese phrase. "Shot" refers to the fact that dramatic results can be achieved with just a single shot or stitch in each hammer. "Angel" refers to the fact, he said, that "you will think it came from heaven."

Those of us who wanted to were given an opportunity to try out this voicing method on a piano with very hard hammers and corresponding harsh tone. I was amazed at how easy it was, and the results were quite dramatic.

Thank you, I obviously missed the pertinent post.

I have missed things before and jumped to conclusions, obviously once again.

    December 2011 and January 2012.
Also look at TTT and take the YouTube link at lower right of my.ptg home page for a video demo on a vertical piano.
