    Hello Piano History Buffs.

    A few days ago I found out how to access online facsimiles of the German musical trades journal "Zeitschrift für Musikinstrumentenbau" from 1880 to 1925.

    Being fluent in German, the language is no barrier to me. However, the archives are not searchable by key words, so you end up randomly hopping around, picking up bits of interesting stuff here and there.  There are some cool ads and fascinating articles. Although the journal is for all musical trades, piano is the dominant topic.

    Example: I just posted some things about Dolge on the PTG facebook page.

    I hope this is of interest to others as well.

    Hi Jurgen,
    Can you post the url for those files? A similar journal in English, Music Trade Review (same date range, but lasted longer) can be found at https://mtr.arcade-museum.com - but it was scanned with OCR, so it does have a search function, though it is clunky.

    Thanks, Jurgen. Though it isn't searchable, it is nice that they were compiled into full year volumes, with a table of contents on the second page. So you can look for some specific things in a general way. They list new patents in each issue, seemingly - interesting to see them as they come along. A lot easier than doing patent searches. Fascinating stuff. The ads are often as interesting as the articles.
