I tuned a Studio Young Chang on Friday and the owner who is an awesome pianist and teacher told me that the key fronts bounce up from time to time- of course it did not do it when I was there. The action seems to be well regulated and the piano is in great condition but she is aware of it and uses it mostly for teaching. Perhaps it is in need of new front key pin felts or maybe easing the keys would help. The jack springs look very thin but maybe that is by design. Hammers have spring with corded loops maybe the springs have too much tension. I am not doing anything to the piano now but want to be prepared when the time comes.

Are you able to more fully describe exactly what "key fronts bounce up" means? Bouncing how, when, under what conditions, etc.? Hard to picture this in my little head....

after the note is released the key comes up in the front in the area of the front key pin the forward edge of the key. I think that it could be worth looking at the backrail cloth but also the tightness of the balance rail hole. It did not happen when I was there and she said it comes and goes.

If it is intermittent then it's probably humidity related. The upcoming dry winter conditions should make it happen.

I would think the key has to climb the balance rail pin for this to happen. Too tight would be the diagnosis because the key should fall under it's own weight. Could be something inside the mortise or it needs easing.
As for back rail cloth,, watching a key that is considered to be moving nicely should reveal any bounce on the return. Young Chang did have an issue with making cloth too thick after they were getting a name for a noisy piano. Young Clack pianos. Then they had major regulation issues as the felts packed
