We have an estate executor with a 19 year old Mason & Hamlin BB that needs a new home in Central Illinois. The piano is over 1 hour away and I have little experience with this era of M&H and seek feedback from those who have hands-on experience with these, and particularly with the BB model. I'm hoping to help find a buyer for the instrument and based on my research it is priced at around $25k,  but I understand it will sell for "what the market will bear". Thanks for the input!

    John

Are you able to talk with the piano tuner who's been taking care of this instrument for the past 19 years?  Find out about tuning stability, if any actionwork has been done , or any other information about the piano.

The only real experience I have with a BB was back in St. Louis. A church had one that wouldn't stay in tune. Wound up that the pin block was not fitted to the flange. These pianos were made in Memphis, and their quality control left a little to be desired.

    Wim,

Thanks for the suggestion and feedback. I'll ask the executor about previous tuners, but I doubt they will have any knowledge on that as they had a minimal relationship with the owner.
