I have never used Pintite to tighten tuning pins but I have used CA super tin to save quite a few pianos. Because there is a well stocked hobby shop here I buy fresh CA glue rather than risk a bad experience from a previously open bottle. Beware of a pinblock that has been doped previously because the block may be mush. As for accelerator I only use it selectively like on a broken hammer shank, two piece jacks, or cracks on flanges and irregular shapes hard to clamp. I find that it is better to let the CA cure on its own and not make a mess. If there are cracks in the block between tuning pin holes you should start seeing the CA coming up at other tuning pin holes.

From time to time you may come across a piano that has been doped with some brew that may have really done it in. This contamination may make it hard to repair with CA .

I have had tremendous success treating blocks in all types of pianos . I recently worked on a piano I treated with CA glue over 15 years ago with 2 or 3 passes of CA. It has held up just fine with torque readings in the 80's. Sometimes you may need to tighten just a few pins on a new piano. You always have the option of a sandpaper shim, larger tuning pin or very, very fine application of CA with a syringe

I was looking at the possibility of stabilising sandstone with CA and found  https://www.starbond.com/tutorials/using-ca-glue-to-stabilize-wood/  which is indicative of methodology and now standard practice in use with wood
