Well, I know that this is probably not the place to post this, but it is time to do something about this situation.  I currently own a Victorian style 1893 AB Chase 7' Grand Piano, that is in storage at a friend of mine's place.  He wants it out of there, and I have tried to find a buyer for quite some time.  It will need complete re-building.  It is built like a tank, and could make someone a great piano, I am sure.  In Toledo Ohio.  Make an offer to me privately, and we will work it out.  I just do NOT want this piano to go to a landfill, and I will probably NOT be putting the time into it that it deserves.  Please let me know if you are interested.  Some Pix available.      Clark  www.clarkspianoservice.com

AB Chase, fantastic company, not sure exactly in which periods, but they are known to copy Steinways.

Paul Monachino once told me that AB Chase in the 1890's sometimes made the Knabe concert grands. This was when I got to look after a fabulous 1901 8'9" Knabe grand, which was having great success in concerts. Kind of 19th century sound, but the artists really grooved when they played it. Way overdone piano, that old Knabe, triplex scaling, a fabulous big hunk of bass bridge, very playable, very stable tuning, high treble not as loud as at present, but remarkably well defined, projected beautifully.

I hope you find a home for it. I wish I were in a position to take it -- but no room, and the moving cost makes it impractical.
