    Greetings All,
I don't see the above topic in the long Piantech library list, and came up empty on the PTG search field of all discussion groups as well.  So here goes .....

I have a client with a Yamaha G1 who has it on a carpeted stage - very low tight carpet.  The current casters are 1 3/4-inch wide brass, and the client finds it very difficult to move the piano on the carpet, which he must do frequently.

In looking at replacement casters (he is on a budget) I see the max load rating for any set of synthetic 3 dual-wheel casters (with a wider footprint, irrespective of brand) to be 600#.  The G1 is just shy of 640.  The client doesn't feel that a truck is affordable.

I haven't been able to find the weight ratings for the more expensive dual wheel brass casters, so don't know if they offer a higher weight rating option.

So ...... What would you recommend?

If you install leg dollies. Insert back rail felt, or similar, around the end of the leg to prevent the dolly's metal cup from gouging the wood when the dolly turns against the leg. DMHIK.
