Is there any damper felt out there that is like this...stitched flats, and all the felt is firm but still quite fluffy.

This is from a Chickering 106 that was worked on (new felts), probably in the 80's.  After much thought (because you know why), I decided not to re-felt, and keep these felts after belly/restringing work...they looked too nice to ditch. I'm only replacing wrapped trichord felts in the set. The rest of the existing felts are working quite nice, without fussing.

Does any supplier carry stitched flats for grands?

Jurgen does. #1026. I portion out the set to make three top treble sets. The top pair is the start of one set. The second pair is the second set. The third pair is the third set.
The 4th pair is the 1st set. the 5th pair is the 2nd set, etc...   This gives me three tapered treble sets. Red backed.

    edit:
I looked at the site and this particular item seems to be discontinued. Center stitched felt is available.

    Jon,

Maybe I'm a little dense but I don't quite follow your procedure. I'd appreciate it if you would elaborate a bit. Thx

The top box is the complete set. Starting from the right, I take the 1st from the top row and 1st from the 3rd row for the first "set". 2nd from the top row, 2nd from the 3rd row for the 2nd "set" and proceed to the larger blocks.  So every 4th pair is the next pair to apportion to it's respective "set".

The lower box has two of the 'sets'.   There are about 13 dampers in some top S&S treble section.
