I recently had a tip about using Tru Oil (used for gunstocks) for filling in scratches on older non-polyester finishes.
Apparently, it's a quick-drying form of linseed oil. I haven't yet gotten a chance to use it, but has anyone else tried it?

I may or may not use it as a tip for the Journal, but if anyone else has any lesser-known fixes for touch-up, we'd love to hear about it.
So far, my favorite is Tibet Almond Oil, which I think is fairly well-known at this point.

    thanks!

I’ve no idea about using it on pianos but I’ve used it for years on the fretboards of my bass guitars. It’s a quality satin finish for that. I’d be surprised if it filled any but the lightest of scratches, it’s just oil but with some sort of additive so it dries hard and holds up well to finger wear.
