Dry 4/0 steel wool or Gray Scotch Brite only. No polish.

Metal polishes will make a bright surface but will leave a corrosive film that rusts quickly.

Skotchbright or emery paper will polish it better.  Even very fine sand paper works, but should only be used on heavy corrosion.

I avoid steel wool because it leave filaments that are hard to remove and produce noises.

    Thank  you both

    BTW,
Can i use beewax to protect the strings a little, maybe .

I ve already used cotton swab with alcohol to clean those rusty spots,
and it left  some black  residue on my  cotton swab,is that the steel powder?

Or is it the oxidized  layer being stripped off and glued to the swab?

I have tested a product, Howards FeednWax that is bee's wax and orange oil and it does protect the strings.  Beeswax is safe.
If this is a grand piano a better idea is to make a string cover.  Protecting the strings from dust also keeps off corrosion.

Wool is best, but any fabric will protect the strings from dust and corrosion.  You cut fabric to the shape of the inside of your grand piano.  Use yard sticks to keep the fabric from touching the strings (usually at least 3 yardsticks).

Or order a professional string cover.  For that see your piano technician.
