I'm developing a new app for Android phones that implements a narrow band filter around a selected partial to make it easier to hear beats.  It is mostly for training purposes and requires the use of a headset - either wired or Bluetooth.  Right now it is in Internal Testing through the Google Play Store, which means available only to those enrolled as testers for this app.  So far I only have one tester (besides myself) and I am looking for a few more.  If anyone is interested in testing this app, please contact me privately.  The app runs on any Android 5.0 or later device.  I am especially interested in the comments of those who have been involved in training or mentoring others themselves, as this is the kind of tool that might be useful in that context.  (If it goes over well I may also port it to iOS devices, but right now it is only for Android.)

    I highly recommend this app.
One experiment is to select a note, say C6, then to play the notes of the chord of nature below that note in various combinations. The app allows you to hear exactly what each partial is doing at that frequency.
In this way you can discern exactly what different stretch choices are doing.

Can you make some videos to show how it works, like these?

I wouldn't mind trying out that app.  Thanks.

Would your program work on an Android Tablet?  Like the Amazon Fire tablet?
    Thanks

The problem with Amazon Fire, as I understand it, is that it does not come with Google Play out of the box.  They feature their own Amazon app store, and my app is only on Google Play.  Some say you can install Google Play as an app on the Amazon Fire tablet, but I have no experience in that area and cannot give any definitive advice on it.

That's why I chose to code my apps as web apps. They have been working on any device that has a browser, which is every device. 🙂 But as you know, the lag for your application makes the application problematic. Any lag mixed with live sound could produce cancellation.

I have two Fire tablets that I installed the Play Store on. It's really not terribly complicated, it just takes a little time. There are 4 APK files that you download and then install in a certain order. Here's one website that is helpful. Install Google Play Store on a Fire Tablet
Once it's installed it works great, just like a regular Android tablet. The Fire tablets are really great and affordable. I have the HD 10" and it's very snappy and responsive. I have 3 tuning apps installed on it and they all work great.
