I just bought a copy of the book: Physics of the Piano by Nicholas J. Giordano, Sr.

It is sorely disappointing. I compared it to W. V. McFerrins book and McFerrin wins.

Have a look at https://www.google.com/search?q=physics+of+modelling+the+piano and there is some fantastic work that's been done.

Philippe Guillaume behind Pianoteq is one person who has piano physics quite nailed so worth reading whatever you can find that he's written.

    Best wishes
