The National Music Centre Museum here in Calgary has one of the original "Duo-Clave" pianos that used to belong to Bill Garlick. The piano has been restored and while it's not always on display it was listed in their catalogue when they had it online.
The 10th edition of the Pierce Atlas has a photo of the Pleyel Duo-Clave on page 275, but the NMC's is not a Pleyel. Google Pleyel duoclave for more info.
If I recall, Bill had rescued the piano at a university after a flood and when it arrived at the NMC it was a total disaster. Several restorations f various qualities were performed on it and today it's an incredible example of a very rare instrument. I might even have a photo of it somewhere.

Don't Know about you, but I'd really like to see a Journal article about this. Maybe someone could get Hannah Beckett a plane ticket to go and have a talk with this fellow.
