I have a tool for regulating the type of drop screws that have the rectangular post. It is the same tool that is used to regulate the jack placement screw. The problem I am having is that the tip of the tool is very thin and distorts to a round shape when used on tight drop screws. The problem as I see it is that the tool is built to get inbetween tight spaces around letoff dowels so is very thin. When used on the jack regulation screw, the screw goes in deep and a large surface is used to turn the screw. When it is used on the drop screws, only a small portion of the tip is used and if the screw is very tight the tool deforms and becomes round at the tip, no longer turning the screw. I flattened it out with parallel pliers, but each time that is done, the metal becomes weaker and it takes less force to deform it again.

So all that to ask if anyone knows of a source for a tool that is dedicated to use on drop screws that has a more substantial tip that may possible not be as deep?

It's expensive, but the Schaff drop screw regulator, part 15, is the one to use that has the right size hole.

Is that the type with a screw driver type surrounded but a tube? It is hard to tell from the picture. If it is, that is for the other style of drop screw.

I have been known to remove a whole set of drop screws and resize the holes.  In removing the screws, I did not grip them by the fragile end.

WNG has a very nice, and pricey, set of regulating tools with different tools for drop and jack screws. Not sure if you can get them individually. Large knurled handles cut down on fatigue.

There are two types of repetition lever upstop screw drivers. One has a slotted end and the other has a spade end. I think you are looking for a driver that adjusts the screw with a spade end. If they are tight, you should first break the bond with a pair of pliers, the set. Then the spade driver should turn them. You might have to place some CLP on them to help.

On pg. D-13 is a double-ended driver. JDD-3, the driver for a slot-end is DS-62. From the illustration there, it looks like JCH-32 is for a spade-end. Additionally, I like the last tool listed on D-13 :-)
