  • 1.  Piano Manufacturer Question - Edward W. Powers

    I was contacted by a client who has an "Edward W. Powers" Upright Piano Serial # 109890​. 

    After scheduling tuning and repairs she asked me if I would research the age of the piano and I assured her I could look it up in the Pierce Piano Atlas and would let her know. 

    Well the Atlas has nothing other than the name "Powers, Edward W"  with no serial # lookup .

    I searched Google and I learn that Edward W. Powers was a piano dealer in Harlem, NY but there's not record of a manufacturer.

    So once again I am turning to my PTG colleagues for assistance.

    What do you know about Edward W. Powers pianos?

    Do you have a picture ? perhaps it was a stencil piano made by another factory with a decal on the fallboard. Did the plate have Powers on it and where was the serial number ?   When was the dealer in Harlem ? Many entries in the Pierce Atlas have only  name and often no serial numbers are listed. Finding an address and year they where in Harlem would at least focus the search
