To the contrary, as per Gary B's observation, the sharps should be able to be lifted a millimeter or two before contacting the shipping rail. I might add that if the top nuts are not secured snugly, the bottom nuts will work their way down, and the rail will sink. Seeing hammers higher than they should be on either side of an action brake is a symptom of this happening.

Ah, OK, so it has no specific adjustments required then. I tuned a steinway grand in which I had to remove it to work on a key. when I put it back I over tightened it and stopped all the keys from working, which startled me at first until I realized what I had done.
