Looking for a leg stand to support a grand piano while the leg is removed and repaired (polyester repair). This leg will be off the piano for a few days since the repair will be done at a different location.

Does anyone have experience with the leg stand that Pianotek sells?  (picture attached)  I assume it is safe and not wobbly?

Any other options? I would guess a sawhorse would also work??

Yeah, I can see that being good in the shop. Thanks.

I have a homemade jack-in-a-box, but I was not really wanting to leave the piano on that while in the home of the customer.

    KISS
Two pieces of plywood joined by a continuous hinge. Width to you liking, length slightly longer than leg.
Secure support, minimal storage.   The attached files take a long time to load so I edited and inserted them here.

Here is my homemade one that is a bout 5 years old now. Super strong, simple and cheap to make. The hole on top is so i can attach a magnifying glass and light. Everything in a shop has to be muti -purpose don't you know!

I finally settled on this as a solution, since I sometimes have to leave the piano set up on the stand while I cart the leg back to the shop for repair.   The sawhorse is collapsible and adjustable to various heights, very strong, around $35 from home depot if I remember correctly.   It can be used for many purposes, looks professional and is reassuringly strong.

If you wish to travel light, like I do, a stable piano bench topped with the appropriate number/thickness of books is what I have used many times. Plenty strong and very stable. And bests of all - for those who don't drive around in a truck - you don't need to carry anything with you, as most piano owners also own a piano bench and a few books! Terry, I though your main ride didn't have doors.
