Muriatic acid. This is a common ingredient used in swimming pools. Next time you dive into a swimming pool, remember, you are swimming in chlorine and muriatic acid.
Keep in mind when using muriatic acid -- it is very caustic. Use caution -- wear rubber gloves and don't place your face above the pan of acid; you'll burn the hairs in your nose. Immerse the caster for only a few seconds -- maybe 30 to 60 seconds depending upon the strength of the acid. Rinse with water after immersion. You should be able to purchase it at some hardware stores. I suggest you read up on muriatic acid to understand its strengths and uses.
