  • 1.  Vertical Piano Flange Resistance

    Hello all,

    I need to know how much resistance each flange on an upright action should be pinned at. I found plenty of info for grands, but didn't see anything for verticals. Maybe I missed it, in which case I apologize for asking again.

    Hammers should swing freely about 3 - 5 swings. 
    Wippen flanges (and all other flanges) should have 3 5 grams of resistance.

    Yes, the fact spring needs to be the loosest of all the centers for quick repetition.

    As an aside note: the reason I ask is that I'm finally getting around to building that action model I purchased all the parts for months ago. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
