A few years before I started here at the university, the wippens in our 1977 Mason & Hamlin CC were replaced with new ones, the dimensions of which did not permit the achievement of correct let-off. Fortunately, the original wippens were sitting in a box in a storage room, and are in excellent condition. Unfortunately, the set is short 6 wippens. Can any of you tell me where I might source the missing units? Do any of you have a few sitting around?
Whoever installed the parts installed new hammers, and increased the bore length in order to achieve letoff, but even at that, the regulating buttons are at the extreme upper end of their travel. I've installed one of the old wippens in octave 4, and the regulation works out very nicely.
