    Greetings all,
One of my customers has a nice 90s Yamaha C7, which he purchased used. It has a similar vintage QRS player system, and recently he complained about a sluggish right pedal. I applied teflon to the lever/pedal rod interface, which made the action much smoother, but it's obvious the trap lever is pushing down weakly on the rod. The trap lever is actually two attached levers: One goes to a servo, and an arm disappears into the long metal box housing the player components, and it looks like the spring is in there.

For those familiar with those systems, is the weak spring common? What can be done about it without having to take the entire player system apart under the piano to put in a stronger one? Has anyone tried installing an accessory spring under the pedal itself? I assume that if the player was aftermarket and taken out, I'd have to find original parts to restore the piano to its original condition.

    Thanks!
