I was called to a historic hotel that is being restored to its original glory and was asked to look at their recently acquired square grand. It is a Woodward & Brown (1851). The owner is interested in restoration, but this is just the brainstorming stage. I have two initial questions.
The first: Does someone sell hammer sets for a square grand? I don't know if this piano has ever had work done to it, but just casually it appeared that the hammers were felt and noticeably eaten with chunks missing. No aromatic or other visual evidence of mice.
The second: Does someone sell pedal sets? Unfortunately the two pedals and rods are missing. The lyre is there, but I could not tell just from the lyre how the pedals were attached. It's possible that something else is missing here as well.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions other abandoning the project.
