When you think you've heard it all

My contact person at the little country Methodist church that bought a new Kawai K-300 last year called me extremely concerned  and worried. She said, "Tommy, the pianist stopped durning the 2nd verse of the first hymn last Sunday, and she apologized to the congregation. She said, "I'm playing this piano as hard as I have always played it, and it will hardly make a sound. My fangers are almost sore from playing so hard, and I think it's broke. We only sang the first and last stanzas of a final hymn after the apology."
The small group gathered around the piano for inspection while questioning the caretaker of the instrument as to whether or not he was keeping it watered. He assured them he was.
"Tommy, We don't know what's wrong but it's broke. We know we've kept it watered."
I had emphasized the necessity of maintaining the Damp Chaser system, but forgot to mention not to engage the practice rail pedal by mistake.
