Hi, Laura. The other end of the black cable is just screwed into the bottom of the keybed. Just un-screw it, and then remove the pedal lyre in the normal way. It can be sometimes difficult to get off, but it is really pretty simple. Just make sure that the piano is unplugged first, or the DKV will throw off error messages. Clark

Subject: Disklavier question
Hello all,
I have a question about removing the pedal lyre on a Yamaha with a Disklavier system. I am completely unfamiliar with dealing with these, so my question is how to disconnect the wire (it has a sort of connector? that is covered with a plastic cover). There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do this. The piano is being moved and the movers need the lyre removed. We looked at it together and couldn't find a solution. The number on it is DGHIB 53221. Any help?
Thanks!
