Has anyone ever heard of a STURN piano. Cannot find any info anywhere. I booked an appointment and am wondering what to expect from this mystery piano.

    Thanks!

There are a few pictures of the brand if you do a search on the name. The one in your picture looks better than some of the other train wrecks. Its probably not that great but at least the case looks like it could be a console and the keys look newer. Probably a stencil/generic piano with a recycled name.

Thanks, James. I found more photos, as well. The cabinet design vaguely looks familiar to me but I can not place it. If I find anything newsworthy or interesting when I service it. I'll be sure to post it.  Thanks, again.

First thing I'd look for is plastic parts. Reminds me of a Bradbury.

Good point, Steven. The client did indicate that all the keys play - which is encouraging. Perhaps, I'll find the true manufacturer on the plate, once I open it up.

My Pierce Atlas has Sturn at Box 282, Dallas 21 , Texas

Bradbury was made in Leominster until 1949... If you see plastic beware. It may not have elbows if it is not a drop action spinet but plastic an abound all over on flanges, jacks , backchecks, Bring a strong flashlight and take the bottom panel off. You may need to remove the action and examine the whippen flanges

I had a client here with a great looking Ivers and Pond. Unfortunately the piano was loaded with plastic.
