It's really quite a beautiful piano, Mr. Kelly. The serial # is 17002. Here's a pic of the piano as a whole. I was thinking it said "Rogers" also, but then started second guessing myself as the script was so old and fancy. In addition (as you pointed out), there are no entries for a "Rogers" in Boston. I'm kind of leaning toward a stencil in my own head.

looks like the second line is Boston and the first is Rogers Brothers. Pierce atlas shows Rogers Bros in New York . Nothing says they didn't have something in Boston or that the Pierce Atlas is 100% correct. It could be a stencil as well if there is no plate stampings. Any idea of history and age ? model number ? serial numbers ? The finish looks very different like exotic veneer....
