Does anyone know of a source for handles similar to the ones used in WN&G tools? (picture below) I'd like to use some with my other shop-dedicated tools. WN&G doesn't sell them separately.

    Thanks!

    Hi Allan,
I suspect that those are custom handles. You could try something like this:

    or this

or make friends with your local machine shop. I think making one wouldn't be too tough, just round stock cut to length and knurled.

    All the best,
    Jon

Thanks, Jon. That's what Nina told me when I asked, that they have them custom made. Just thought I would throw it out to the learner group to see if anyone had run across something similar (other than tattoo needle holders - not really the right size.)

    Thanks!

There are companies that sell handles for files, in wood and plastic.
As well, you can buy wood or plastic dowel material in many different sizes.
Finally, it is easy and often rewarding to make your won handles. You don't need a lathe (although that can be nice!)
On a simple table saw you can easily make octagonal tool handles from some nice wood.  Old ebony sharps are a great raw material for small handles.   A handle with some flat surfaces will not roll around and jump off your work table like a round one will. As well, many tool handles are better with two flat sides. That way the tool is automatically oriented in the right position for use as soon as you pick it up.
