I finally got to the unknown Sturn piano that I had lamented about. The verdict: Not Bad.  It looks European, possibly British.  Reminds me a little of a Knight. Old school construction. No plastic. Excellent scaling and FAC numbers. Pins were soft - which was not surprising.  After fine tuning at 45 cents flat, it sounded sweet. It is the typical story with this client - the kids are taking lessons.

Bottom line: Don't fear the Sturn piano.

Why did you tune it 45 cents flat?
I snowbird to Ajo now. I like the desert in winter.

My policy is always A440.  However, on this piano the tuning pins were too soft. I gave the customer what they wanted - a good sounding instrument - without breaking the bank.
