Is anyone else having trouble getting their business insurance renewed? I have had insurance with Liberty Mutual thru PLC Insurance Agency for 5 years. This is the insurance that is a benefit to PTG members.

My insurance expires in 16 days, but I have been unable to obtain a quote for renewal.  It takes them (PLC Insurance) a week to respond to a phone call. And when they respond all I get are broken promises. First they said I would have it on May 8. Then  they said it would be May 20th. Now it is May 22 and still no quote. Now they say they don't have the quote yet. Not even an apology has been offered. And I have been given no time frame as to when I might expect a quote.

I have reported this to the PTG main office. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

It was either Ashley or Sarah that found a better company for me 2 years ago. Keep calling and ask for them by name.

If they are this bad just trying to get a quote, think of how bad it might be to file a claim.

We are now getting the same coverage with Liberty Mutual we had with PLC but our local Farmers agent is handling it.

Haven't had a problem.  Mine renewed last month, I think. Got the bill, paid it, got the policy. Of course I've been insured with them for something like 25 years.

My business insurance has been with Liberty Mutual through PLC for about 18 years. PLC has always been friendly and efficient. Every year I get a bill long enough in advance that if I notice a change I give Ashley a call and she tells me what's going on. I write them a check. No problem. On the rare occasion some organization I'm doing work for requests proof of insurance, I give Ashley a call and it's on the way. I like 'em.

We seem to do a lot of commercial work, so we keep a PDF on file that has a current W-9 plus an Insurance Cert that goes out to our commercial accounts every July at the start of the new fiscal year.  It prevents delays in payment plus the accounting departments love us.  Most insurance companies provide a certificate online in a PDF format.  It's so much easier than it used to be!

I have seen the ads for piano tuner's insurance in the Journal and at conventions and considered it.

Then I asked my own insurance agent (State Farm) if they had ever heard of piano tuner's insurance and yes, they had a policy for just that!

It is about $500 per year ($41/mo) for $ 2 million in coverage.

I also found a better fit for my needs by asking my own insurance agent.

Got mine through State Farm. (my wife is an agent) covers me from piano moves, anything happens if I bring a piano to my shop, covers my tools, shop, liabilities, personal damage, etc.
