Clark --
The reason they are swamped is because about two years ago they had used all the available parts, worldwide, to make the power supply repairs to the MK2 and MK3. Yamaha finally re-engineered the parts needed for the repairs and went into production. It wasn't until October, 2020, that the new parts were actually available and TAP could acquire them and start making the required upgrades. All the original MK2 and MK3 power supplies are worn out and dying and will need to be upgraded to the new parts eventually. Fortunately, that's now possible. The floppy drives in the MK2 and MK3 units are also worn out and usually die about the same time as the power supplies. Fortunately, Yamaha still carries them. And yeah, the prices for Yamaha DKV parts can sometimes be exorbitantly high.

I just had two older DKV power supplies rebuilt by TAP Electronics. They did a great job, however, they said that they have been swamped by the demand, and it took awhile. And, for a replacement board that Yamaha used to sell for around $300, it now costs $700. But the board is completely reconditioned when it comes back. Both worked like a charm. Clark

Call Yamaha tech support: 714-522-9980. They pretty much have all those drives available. I frequently find myself replacing disk drives, floppy drives and having to have the older power supplies rebuilt. Yamaha has made a deal with TAP Electronics, (literally across the street from them), to do repairs an all Yamaha DKV units.

Hi all, I'm looking for a Yamaha DKC100r control unit for a Yamaha Disklavier from the 90's. More specifically I need the disk drive for the unit. Thanks!
