Hi, John,
To my knowledge (always limited), most modern machines do not come with such ports as standard equipment anymore. When one needs such connections, one can either search online, or, "simply" make whatever is needed one's self.
There are places that carry a wide variety of adapters in various types, from simple plugs, through cables, to slot-mounted cards. Much depends on how much time and energy one wants to invest in such projects.
Since I've spent so much time doing network forensics and security, I just make my own. Obviously, YMMV.
Thanks again!
Kind regards.
Horace

You're welcome. It kinda looks like older technology. I haven't worked with Windows machines for years now, but do any modern machines even have the RS232 or the 25 pin printer connectors anymore?--

Not quite. I enter them manually into my notebook computer, which will be next to the gram scale. I am looking for a way to connect a scale to the computer via USB port, and have the scale enter the readings into the column without me typing them.

Are you wanting a way to avoid writing down the measurements, then taking them to a computer to type them in?
I'm iOS, and can share/edit files among various Apple devices, including iMac and iPhone.
For instance, I could enter the info in my iPhone, and it will show up when I open it in the computer.
I'm using the Numbers app, but you can probably do similar things with GoogleDocs or Excel.

This is mildly off-topic, but I would like to be able to take measurements on my .1 gram digital scale and dump them into an Excel spreadsheet column, which I now do by typing them in. Does anyone know if there is a means by which to do that?

Doesn't really work with the flanges attached to the rail. The friction in the flange skews the results. I suppose you can loosen the flange screws, that might help. Any gram scale will work for that purpose though. You just need a set up that allows the hammer tail or strike point (either way is fine) to rest on the scale.

Can any of these gram scales weigh grand hammers/shanks without removing them from the stack? (Basically a quick rough assessment)

Ok, I bought the one from Brooks. It's accurate and consistent! And it was only $17.
Correction about the other one I mentioned. It is not $600. It is $200. I got the 600 number because it can weigh up to 600 grams.
But the ones mentioned all beat that still.
Loving my new gram scale!
Thanks everyone!

Yes, I own one, that's why I knew about it. I don't use it very often but
it is accurate to 1 ml. It's large enough to be easy to use and the scale
is readable. Of course, it's mainly for weighing small amounts.
If you want scale that will weigh really heavy items (like you) and still
be accurate to one milligram, that might be costlier.

Any recommendations for a gram scale accurate to 0.1 of a gram? And affordable. The one I priced from either Schaff or Pianotek is $600 and the one i got at Harbor Freight is not accurate to 0.1 of a gram.
Thanks,
Daniel
